Help me buy a new computer for work

Hello! My name is Dino Latoga. I live in San Fernando, Pampanga a small city in the Philippines and I am your goto virtual assistant. As you already know, I do all sorts of stuff like install tracking scripts on a website, publish articles, optimize page layouts, make websites faster, modify themes, write simple plugins, upload images and literally everything else that has something to do with websites.

My workstation is a 13-inch MacBook Pro and it was given to me as a Christmas gift bonus by my previous employer 8 years ago. About 3 months ago, a diagonal crack started to appear on the screen. I tried to feel my fingers on top of it but it was inside of the glass. There were several more cracks that started to appear a few weeks later. Currently, there are now more than 10 diagonal cracks on the screen. It looks like Wolverine's claws! I don't know how or where it came from but I'm very careful with my things especially I know this is the tool I use for work. Despite of all those annoying cracks on the screen, I still use it for my daily work as I have no other good computer lying around.

I've already thought of getting the screen replaced but if I bring it for repairs, there's nothing for me to use. So I thought, "why not get myself a new one? It's 2018 and I need a bigger computer". After all, my laptop is 8 years old and it has become slow and sluggish over the years even with that additional RAM that I've added. The screen has also has gotten small for today's standards and I need something bigger because most of the websites I work with are built for large screens. The battery on the other hand is already worn out so it's always plugged in. In other words, it really is an old.

As somebody who works for the web, I need computer that will last me in order to make my living. I have a wife and 3 kids. My oldest child goes to a special school because he has a learning disability (dyslexia) and his tuition fee is quite expensive. My little girl on the other hand goes to a public school which means free tuition and the youngest is a toddler who can drink a 100 ounces of milk everyday (yikes). My current job as a virtual assistant currently helps me pay off our monthly bills and my family's expenses but I am still living paycheck to paycheck. As a contractor, I follow the no work, no pay policy. It means that I only get paid for the hours that I've worked on. I don't have sick nor paid leaves. As you've probably noticed, I've been working hard and trying to stay healthy all year long so I don't miss any days of work. This year, I remember to only skip one day of work and it was during my birthday. I've been doing part time gigs on my free time lately. I've been designing small prints like gift tags and invitation cards. I've been trying to sell them to friends and family. So far, I only managed to sell a few.

I have been with SLX since November 2015 and I've never asked nor received incentives or Christmas bonuses. I am generally not the kind of person who likes to ask for money, but this is something that I really need and every cent will help me.

If you have been working with me, you're already well aware how passionate and driven I am. Writing codes, making websites, doing webmaster stuff is something that I love to do. And working for my family is incredibly important to me, and I have put my heart and soul into it. I am one of those people who when I set my mind to something will work as hard as possible to make it a reality.

I also believe in community and helping each other out. Right now, I'm a little down on my luck but I know in the future I will hopefully be secure enough to help others out too. Even if we don't reach my goal, you can at least take some of the burden off of me. I won't be judging you for how much or little you donate -- a few dollars is fine, more than that is great.
