Help Me Build on Crow Creek Reservation

For the 2013 summer, I hope to work as a full-time volunteer intern for the Dacotah Tipis Habitat for Humanity. Dakota Tipis is loacted on the Crow Creek Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota. It is 501c3 non-profit dedicated to providing affordable housing to under-privileged populations. Buffalo County, where the reservation is located, is currently the most impoverished county in the US, facing overcrowded and inadequate housing.

If funding allows, I hope to work as a volunteer coordinator and site build assistant, to help bring in and support volunteers who come into the project to make a difference in the local community. The only obstacle that may prevent my service work is the cost of my room/board and transportation.

I appreciate your support on this project and am very excited by the possibility of working on an issue I care deeply about.
