Help me build a tomato farm to employ youths in Zanzibar.

Hi everyone,

My name is Saleh Julius Abdalla . I'm 25 years old from Maungani. But now I live in Jumbi, Zanzibar.

I started a small farm

Here in Jumbi, my uncle owns a piece of the land. On that land, I started a small farm with my friend. Since it belongs to my uncle, we don't have to pay rent to use the land.

I want to develop a Tomato Farm

We started the farm due to the lack of job opportunities in rural areas in Zanzibar including Jumbi area in the island of Zanzibar (Tanzania).

We wish to create a well managed tomato farm so we can generate income for the unemployed youth in the area. Tomato is basic ingredient for our cuisine. In Zanzibar all cuisine includes tomato. For a beginners, it's also the easiest plant to harvest. That's how I believe that we won't fail to success as long as we have good irrigation and well prepared soil.

The budget we need

Some money is required to have the water pump and pipes to irrigate our tomato farm. Then we also need the electricity setup, a water tank, fertilizer, water sprayers, a drip irrigation system and tomato seeds.
