A pleasant day Everyone!
My Name is Donna R. Sevilla, 28years of age, a nurse by profession, a wife and a mom of 2 adorable kids. Last January when i felt a lump in my left breast. I ignored it, since Im a breastfeeding (mixed feeding to be exact) because currently, I was working in a public hospital. I don't feel any unusual so I continue ignoring it. May 2019 when this lump would not go away and also the reason for me to seek a consultation to our doctor. The doctor wanted me to do a bilateral breast ultrasound. The ultrasound shows a solid, complex mass in my left breast. US BIRADS 5- highly suggestive of malignancy. Biopsy warranted. I showed the result to the surgeon and he wanted me to undergo fine needle aspiration biopsy cared of pathologist. Week later the surgeon discussed to me the result and it is suspicious malignant. He wanted me to undergo MRM (Modified Radical Mastectomy) ASAP, where my left breast needs to removed. A month later, Histopathologic Report, Estrogen Receptor, Progesterone Receptor, and HER2 neu were available for pickup. I was diagnosed to have Invasive Mammary Carcinoma Stage 3a, my hormone receptor were both positive (thus I also need Hormonal Therapy), and I was positive to HER2. Meaning I have the aggressive and expensive type of breast cancer to cure.
The reason why I am knocking at your heart is the high cost of Herceptin, the drug which I need to take every 21 days for 1 year. 1 vial hovers at 42,000 ($825) and I need 3vials each cycle amounting to 126,000 ($2,470). 126,000 multiply by 18 is 1, 512,000.00. I also need a 1month, everyday session of Radiation therapy and it costs 50,000 ($981).
I am greatly need your help in sustaining my treatment to fight this battle. I am forever grateful to the Lord God for giving me a supportive family and friends and also an amazing strength and positivity. I will appreciate any means coming from you for me to survive and live longer.
