Hi, World! I'm 14, I love to draw, and art is my absolute passion. (@the_worst_url on instagram) I am currently in AEP (also known as Art Elective Program or Higher Art) which means, unlike my peers who are not in AEP and are instead in General Art, art is a subject for me and my grades will be taken into consideration when I wish to graduate to a good junior college that offers an art course.

However, here in Singapore, Singaporeans get most of the benefit. Permanent residents like me and my family don't have the luxury of the Ministry Of Education (MOE) funding my school activities. Recently, my AEP teacher announced that he would be selecting 7-10 Singaporeans in August to go on a 6-day excursion to Japan to explore the traditions and the art there.

It would be a dream come true to be able to travel to Japan to observe its traditions and explore the famous art museums there such as the Teshima Art Museum and the National Museum of Art situated in Osaka. I have never been to Japan (I have only ever been to here and Myanmar), and I have always wanted to travel there. However, I will most likely not get to go at all.

Although the expenses for this trip are not confirmed yet, my teacher estimates that it will cost nearly $3000 for me to go on this trip as I am not a Singaporean. This is because MOE will not fund PR's, only Singaporeans. On the other hand, in addition to MOE's funds, there is a secondary organization that will be providing a tie fund for the selected students' expenses which means, after subtracting the funds from the original total, that the Singaporean students will only have to pay around $300! Although I believe this to be rather unfair, I am not yet eligible to apply to be a Singaporean, and I will continue to not be eligible until many years later, in which it will already be too late for me by then.

If you help me and fund my trip, you have no idea how grateful I will beand I will never forget the opportunity you would have given me. My family cannot afford to spend $3000 for this trip, but you can. It doesn't matter how much you donate, I will be so grateful for every bit I receive.

Please help me further pursue my love for art. This trip may just be the boost I need to become the children's book illustrator I have always wanted to be since I was 7, so please help me make my dream into a reality.

Thank you so much, World!
