Hello, I'm 23 years old, and have been struggling with Bipolar disorder, ADHD, and C-PTSD (all diagnosed when I was 18). These have sidelined me from my studies at university, and now keep me from being able to carry on with day-to-day tasks. I am left physically frail as a result.
I was forced to drop out of University due to complications from my first attempts to treat my illness. The medication had serious side-effects, leaving me unable to work steadily. I have no family support to rely on, and the friends I have are not much better off than I: healthier, but also poor students just trying to make ends meet. This means there is no one I can turn to locally for help.
I have been going from job to job trying to make ends meet and afford therapy (a challenge with only a high school diploma), but it has been all I can do just to pay for food and housing. There is nothing left each month to return to therapy, or to pay for new medications that will work better. Without treatment, my health, mental and now even physical, are all deteriorating, making it even more difficult to work and earn money. It is a vicious downward cycle. I am now at the point where I do not have enough to pay for my living expenses, much less therapy. If this goes on, I will surely end up on the streets. I am all alone right now.
I am reaching out to sympathetic hearts to help pull me through this, so I can address my health issues, get back on my feet, return to work, and re-apply to university. I don't want to be a burden. I want to be independent, self-supporting, and able to contribute. I don't want to have to ask for help, but I am out of options. Your support will change my whole life. Help me break out of this downward spiral so I can achieve something better.
Where the money is going
The money is going to help cover my expenses over the next several months so I can get back on my feet.
It is going to help me pay for:
- living expenses, primarily housing and food
- therapy and medication to treat and manage my illness so I can resume regular work
- expenses related to applying to return to university to resume my studies (this is a small fraction of the total)
Right now as per 4 October 2019, I have enough money to hold out for only one more month. If you can make any donation, or even just share this page, it will be of great help in this urgency.
