Help me adopt a Doctor Clown!

On Sunday 2nd of October I will run a half-marathon in Lisbon, Portugal.

I'm using this run to raise funds for Operação Nariz Vermelho, the NGO my mother founded in 2003. They are professional hospital clowns that visit children in 13 hospitals all over Portugal. Their mission is to take smiles, love and humorous relief to children, their families and health professionals that deal with illness everyday. It is a deeply necessary work that changes moments, attitudes and spirits in an unimaginable way.

My mother Beatriz Quintella passed away in 2013, she was only 50 years old and had a lifetime of so much laughter, joy and love in front of her, but the example she set as an altruist being and the legacy she left behind lives beyond her. My dream is to one day have a foundation in her name that will help the many projects and ideas she was yet to develop, but while that dream is in construction, all my effort and amount I raise will go 100% to Operação Nariz Vermelho.

With the €12,000 I want to raise I can Adopt a Clown in my mother's name. This will finance the work of a professional clown doctor to visit the hospitals 84 times a year, twice a week.

For some people 21k might seem like a stroll in the park, for others like something impossible. For me running has been a safe haven and a reset in my health.
