Help Mary with Car Repair Costs

Hello, I’m Mary. Those who know me are aware that I’ve faced some difficulties over the past few years. Life’s just that way sometimes, but I was starting to get back on my feet. Things were looking up. I found an affordable place to live, and my freelance writing career was moving along steadily after previously experiencing some ups and downs.

Well, many of you also know that affordable place to live wasn’t all I’d hoped it would be. It wasn’t a safe environment, for my mental or physical health, and I had to leave. Fortunately, I’ve been staying with a very generous friend while I save up for a security deposit and first month’s rent on a new place. Unfortunately, I’ve come across some unexpected expenses that I simply am not able to swing right now on top of the money I need for a new apartment.

My car is due for inspection by the end of this month. I will likely need new tires, as well as some brake work according to input from knowledgeable friends and the OnStar diagnostics report I receive each month. I’m anticipating a cost of at least $800 for these repairs in order to pass inspection.

While I work from home, I do need my vehicle in order to transport my youngest son from school and to medical appointments. Some of you may remember I was without a car for a long time. I’m thrilled to have this independent transportation. With some help from my friends, I feel confident I can get the car repairs I need, find a suitable place to live and obtain a sense of security I’ve been lacking for quite some time now.

I’ve set a goal of $1000 to be sure I can cover all car-related expenses. If there is additional money after necessary repairs are made, I will use those funds to go toward incidental apartment costs.
