Help Mary Grace Funtanoz with her medical bills & rehabilitation

Mary Grace has been our beloved Foreign Domestic Helper for more than 2.5 years. She came to Singapore in June 2018. She served us very well, and took care of our 2 sons (9 and 5 years old) to the best of her ability. She worked hard, love our children as her own and carried out her daily duties passionately.

She was scheduled to go back to Philippines on 13th of December 2020 for good, as she decided to be with her family to take care of her 3 gorgeous children. As per normal process in Singapore, we had cancelled her work permit on 11th of December in the morning so that we can issue the work permit to our new Foreign Domestic Helper.

Unfortunately, Mary Grace suddenly felt severe headache and not feeling well after dinner on the evening of 11th of December. The helpers of my sister-in-law together with my niece and nephew were at home when the incident happened. They let her rest until my wife and I reached home. We immediately checked her Blood Pressure and found out that it was 240/110. Mary Grace might get stroke as she was not able to speak well and could not move her right arm and right body. I immediately called an Ambulance and accompanied her to Tan Tock Seng Hospital A&E.

Doctors immediately assessed her and urgently do MRI scan. They found bleeding on her left brain and immediately transferred to Neurosurgeon. Within an hour, she was admitted to High Dependency Neuro ICU. The Doctor explained that she was alert and conscious and need to further monitor her condition, whether surgery is needed to extract the bleeding from her brain. She was transferred to General Ward in the afternoon of 13th of December to recuperate and maintain her Blood Pressure of below 160, while the nurse is providing her intravenous feeding. She is currently recovering and started to take solid foods on 19th of December.

Since she was admitted at HD NICU and still under recovering at the General Ward, her bills already reached SGD 18,000+ as of 26th of December. We have already settled SGD 2550 by ourselves and the insurance only covers up to SGD15000. The bills are still piling up at the moment. As per Doctor's recommendation, she can do rehabilitation in the Philippines. Our family is also facing financial difficulties and we have problems paying her medical bills.

Since she is a foreigner and does not qualify for any hospital subsidies. She is being charged as a private patient. We thus appeal to your generosity to help with her medical bills so that she can recover, recuperate, and to also be able to fly back to Philippines to be with her family. She greatly misses her family and would like get discharged and go home.

Any amount of help is good, we will be extremely grateful as this will cover her outstanding medical bills & upcoming rehabilitations.
