Marthie urgently needs post stroke rehabilitation
Thank you to all the kind people viewing this campaign.
Marthie Rodrigues, a 46 year old single parent, suffered a massive stroke on 14 May 2017. This was brought on by dural venous sinus thrombosis, which has left her paralysed from the neck down.
The stroke was preceded by ESS cancer surgery on 8 February 2017, with subsequent complications, resulting in her being hospitalised until 30 April 2017.
Even though Marthie survived the stroke against all odds, she was sent home on 8 June 2017, as we are not in a position to afford rehabilitation. With the assistance of a caregiver and a physiotherapist she has made some progress but has to deal with the following:
- Paralyses - with movement limited to the neck and hands
- Being confined to a hospital bed
- Increased fluid pressure inside the skull
- Pressure on nerves
- Insufficient funding to cover the mounting bills and obtain the necessary treatment, not to mention the full body wheelchair she is in need of.
Marthie, the sole breadwinner, has been unable to work since February 2017 and has no medical aid nor insurance. Assistance is needed for monthly expenses, for rehab as well as her daily needs.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. You are welcome to share the link as many times as possible and please request your friends to visit the website and view the campaign.
To simplify the donation process for South African donars, payments may also be made into the following account: M Rodrigues, First National Bank, Account number 62665284776, Branch Code 250655.
Donations into the FNB account would also be placed on the campaign page.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, please let us show Marthie that she has many willing to walk the road to full recovery with us.
From a very concerned daughter.

Great! We made $350. That's an excellent start! However, we need to get Marthie into a rehab centre as soon as possible and need your support. Please tell your friends and families about this cause and find some donors! Thank you all!
