HELP MARIELLE FIGHT HER BATTLE AGAINST LUPUS & VASCULITIS

FOR MY DAUGHTER'S BIOLOGIC INFUSION TREATMENT

And this is where it all started….

👉Year 2014 is typically just a normal year for most, but for Yiel and for us her family this is a year where it really tested us as a family and our faith. Mid of 2014, Yiel started to feel fatigue, left quadrant pain, she also experiences having puffy eyes, butterfly rash on her face, series of vomiting and bloody stools this made us worry that led us to bring Yiel at the hospital. We brought her to the nearest hospital in Sta. Mesa since that is where Yiel was born and thinking that it will also be very much helpful since they have Yiel’s history.

She was admitted and then doctors started to run laboratory tests, and we we’re also referred to different specialist doctors and those are for nephrologist, gastroenterologist, rheumatologist and urologist. During Yiel’s admission, blood tests and ultrasound is not enough for the doctors that’s why even though considering Yiel’s age that time which is 18 years old they needed to do extensive tests to be able to identify exactly what is the main cause of her symptoms. Her Nephrologist scheduled her for kidney biopsy, and we we’re informed that it will be without anesthesia since they need Yiel awake during the procedure. We waited for couple of days for the result since it will be sent out to NKTI, and results came for the kidney biopsy, her nephrologist mentioned that Yiel has Glomerular nephritis and it needs medical attention (medicines for the meantime), and every 3 months check – ups for it can re-occur after 5 – 7 years. Then still it is not yet time for us to go home since Yiel still has a couple of more procedures left, her Gastroenterologist scheduled her for Endoscopy and Colonoscopy at the same time, to rule out what causing her blood in the stools and those episodes of vomits. And as to what the results showed Yiel has episodes of ulcers and considering that she has vasculitis on her colon, she was prescribed with antibiotics and advised for follow up check – up. Then she underwent surgery to stitched out the passage of her urine, and for her Rheumatologist she is considering that it can also be an autoimmune disease (systemic lupus) however during that year there are 1-2 categories left for her to fully consider that is lupus, that is why her doctor mentioned to observe and do follow up for the meantime. It was really a roller coaster ride for us that year and I know also for Yiel but knowing her and her strong faith that really helped her go through all of those procedures.

👉Years have passed, and year 2019 & 2020 is a sudden year for us and for Yiel for she felt all of the symptoms coming back, and this time aside from the symptoms that she had last 2014, she also has anaphylaxis (fatal type of allergy) every time that she eats chicken or eggs, not only that she is also experiencing severe joint pains, lower back pain, and tiredness when exposed to the sun. She underwent a lot of laboratories even physical therapy because of the joint pains and lower back pain,

👉And this year comes, a year that really shakes us… year 2021, February 2021, Yiel was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus (SLE) associated with ANCA Vasculitis (swollen blood vessels) which is an auto immune disease and a lifetime condition. In a span of two months, February to April 2021, most of Yiel’s organ we’re affected already, Her skin – that causes her allergic reactions & rashes to the stomach and legs, Her eyes – that she is experiencing sudden loss of vision and floaters, Her Nervous system, Her Heart, Her Digestive system – that causes a lot of abdominal pain and episodes of bloody stools, Her Joints and muscle, and Her kidney – Glomerular nephritis. Aside from all of these Yiel is also experiencing general symptoms such as fever, headache, and weight loss. Her doctor told as that this very alarming since vasculitis is much more fatal than lupus, since vasculitis can spread out to all of the organs and can cause severe damages and that can shorten a patient’s lifespan.

👉For the span of two months it is really very crucial since her vasculitis is very active and spreading to all of Yiel’s organ that is why her Rheumatologist advised us that Yiel needed to have Biologics for Vasculitis infusion treatment, Yiel will be needing 6 months of treatment or 6 sessions, and we we’re given an ultimatum that it needs to be done as early as possible (starting the month of May if possible) to give Yiel a remission, to prevent the vasculitis to worsen and to spread to the other remaining organs of Yiel.

👉TREATMENT NEEDED👈

👉This infusion (Biologics for vasculitis) causes 42,000 pesos per session and Yiel needs a total of 6 sessions that will cost us a total of 252,000 pesos, and we are really sadden since we know that we really cannot afford this treatment, since Yiel doesn’t have a work anymore because of her condition she is unfit to work.

We know that to battle out an illness it requires physical, emotional, mental and spiritual strength however with these it also requires money for Yiel to get the treatment, With this we are knocking on your kind hearts to help our Yiel to get this treatment and fight out this battle.
