Campaign Story
We beg for your help. A war has erupted between the Philippine Government and a local terrorist group in Marawi City, Southern Philippines on May 23, 2017. On that day, starts the chaos, confusion, hunger, depression of the Maranao people. We are a small tribe called Maranaos, a population of around 200,000 who live peacefully around the Lake Lanao, but not until this war happened. The Maranaos scrambled for safety going all directions. On to it's 11th day, the situation is worsening. People have no clothes, no food, no medicine, and nowhere to go but stay in the evacuation centers in Iligan City, 35 km from Marawi. Old and young alike are getting sick because the evacuation centers are crowded and very hot. I am appealing to your good heart to please help us, help the Maranaos, help us survive this traumatic experience. We never ask for help but now, because now is when we need your help the most. Out houses are bombarded. Some relatives are dead due to cross-fire. Our livelihoods are gone. We hope to go back and find our strength to start life again. The ultimate beneficiaries of this fundraiser are the poor people of Marawi who are now in dire need of survival. Please help us. Your donation will go a long way. We will kepp you updated with where the money will go, making sure every penny is accounted for. Please help us. I am begging your kind heart
