Hi, my name is Marj and early this month my mom Malena was diagnosed with stage 1B cervical cancer. My mother, Malena Joy Villanueva was an OFW in Saudi for 11 years, but she decided to go home January this year to spend more time with us. May 2019, she started having symptoms and it started first with uterine bleeding. Then on December 2019, she decided to undergo dilation & curettage. Biopsy was done and results came in having found squamous cell carcinomas in the uterine samples. She consulted a specialist regarding the biopsy results and the physician ordered an abdominal CT-scan. Masses were found in the uterus but it was small and can be removed by surgery. We then agreed to have surgery to remove the mass. So, she went through total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy. Unfortunately, during the procedure her Doctor discovered another tumor on the bladder (3mm), masses on the intestine & lymph nodes, and was not able to do the removal for it not to metastasize. The Doctor had to change the diagnosis to stage 3 cancer instead of it being at stage 1B. This cause will help my mom with her chemotherapy and for the medicines that will be needed during treatment. Your help means a lot to us but most especially to our mom. Please do share this link on your Facebook timeline and let’s help Malena fight cervical cancer!
