Make the 1st Philippine Esperanto Youth Congress Happen

Support us as we organize the very first Philippine Esperanto Youth Congress!

The Philippine Esperanto Youth (FEJ) is pleased to announce, that for the first time in the history of the movement of speakers, learners, and advocates of the international language Esperanto in the country, the 1st Philippine Esperanto Youth Congress will be held in Manila on April 22-25, 2020.

This historic congress shall mark the culmination of the seven years of effort of Esperanto advocates in the country and the forward step towards the further growth and integration of the national Esperanto community, and shall provide speakers, learners, and advocates coming from different parts of the country the opportunity to interact, learn, and work together in a series of social and educational activities.

With the theme "The Esperanto movement: fresh beginnings in a multicultural Philippines", the four-day congress will serve a unique role in convening young speakers and learners of Esperanto from different regions of the country. There will be sessions dedicated to craft policies and initiatives for the movement, but there will also be cultural programs, educational sessions, fun activities, and even an excursion to select historical and natural areas in the region.

While it will mainly be a national-level youth congress, participants of all ages from other countries are also invited to participate, in order to interact with members of the local community and give them a unique international experience while practicing their language proficiency, and get to taste unique pieces of Philippine culture with an interesting program and eventually, through local tourism.

To guarantee the success of this Congress, the Congress Organizing Committee are requesting everyone to support this initiative financially or through material support.

Eventually, your contributions to the Congress Fund will ensure:

• finance and implement important parts of the event;
• keep the registration fees low enough for young participants; and
• fund the succeeding activities of Philippine Esperanto Youth, in case of a profit.

Additionally, in case that we are able to collect enough, we will use part of the funds to finance participants from distant regions, who may have difficulties in joining due to economic reasons.

Through your donation, you will help give Filipino Esperanto speakers and learners the opportunity to experience a truly multicultural atmosphere, consolidate the Esperanto movement in the Philippines, and ensure the continuous growth of the local community.
