Maheem Jiwani is a Social Sciences student from Karachi, Pakistan. She recently completed her A Levels from The Lyceum School, Karachi. In her first year in A Levels, she wrote a six-month-long research paper titled “Prostitution: A Social Taboo or a Socially Nurtured Phenomenon?”, in which she analyzed the complexities of prostitution becoming a thriving industry in Pakistan, despite being a social taboo. Recently, her Abstract was accepted by the Scientific Reviewing Committee of the International Conference on Gender Studies 2018. She has been invited to attend the International Conference in Bangkok, Thailand from 04th – 05th October 2018 to present her paper, where she will have the opportunity to get her paper published internationally, indexed in the International Science Index, and submitted to be indexed in the Google Scholar, Scopus and Thomson Reuters. To be able to attend the Conference, Maheem needs an average of 1280 USD. Following is a detailed cost breakdown:
1) Airfare (two-way): approximately 61,000 PKR = 496 USD
2) Conference Registration Fees for International Student Presenter + 3% Bank Charges on Online Payment: 464 USD
3) Accommodation for 3 nights: 288 USD (incl. of tax)
4) Visa costs: 4000 PKR = 32 USD
