HELP MAHAD TO GET HIS LIFE BACK

Mahad Mahamud was a norwegian citizen for 9 years when suddenly norwegian authorities decided to withdraw his citizenship. After living in Norway for 17 years they claimed that he lied about his identity when he came to Norway as a 14 year old in 2000.

Mahad (32) from Somalia came to Norway when he was 14 years old.
He went to school and got an education as a bio ingenieur. He worked as a bio ingenieur at Ullevål central hospital in Oslo for many years, paid taxes and was very integrated in the norwegian society. In 2008 he proudly became a norwegian citizen.

In 2016 the norwegian directory for immigration suddenly claimed that Mahad was not from Somalia, but from Djibouti and that he lied when he came to Norway as a 14 year old. Mahad lost his norwegian citizenship, his job, his house, everything. He has no longer the right to work and has now been stateless and homeless for more than two years.
They are not sending him to Djibouti, where they claim he's from, and they refuse to let him go to Somalia. He has nowhere to go and has no life.

In 2017 he took his case to court and lost. The authorities claim that a man from Djibouti is Mahad's brother. Mahad's lawyer, Arild Humlen, went himself to Djibouti and met this man. He got documents to prove that they are not related, but the prove was not good enough for the court.
The court concluded with that they are brothers and that there are doubts that he is from Somalia.

Mahad appealed, but in the meantime he got tired of being homeless and without rights in Norway. He decided to go to Canada. But on his way there he was stopped in border control in Island. He applied for asylum in Island, but after a while they told him that regarding the Dublin agreement he should return to Norway. In september 2018 he was returned to Norway, and just a few weeks later his appeal came up in the court room.
Mahad and his lawyer had more evidence this time and several good witnesses, so they had a good feeling they would win this times. Among the witnesses was the man that they claim is his brother, Mahad's aunt who also lives in Norway, and a couple of people high in the system in Somalia. Somalian authorities has supported Mahad all the way, confirming that he is a somalian citizen. And Djibouti has denied that he's from there.

But unfortunately he lost in court again. Both Mahad and the claimed to be "brother" offered to do a DNA-test to prove that they are not related, but the offer was declined. They also think that he lied about his age when he came, saying that he was probably 18 and not 14. But pictures from his youth in Norway shows a very young boy. None of the witnesses was found truthworthy by the court. It's a mystery why they don't demand a DNA-test.

Mahad doesn't want to give up. They took away his life, and he wants his life back. He knows who he is and he's not going to let them take that away from him.

The problem is that there has been a lot of costs regarding the two court cases that he lost. Since he's not allowed to work he's living from hand to mouth and has nothing. His lawyer says that the verdict is incorrect and unreasonable and he wants to help him further with his case, but he needs to cover some of the incurred expenses before contiuning his work. Which is understandable.

We are therefor trying to help Mahad cover some of his expenses so he can continue to fight for his life. The next step is either to appeal to Supreme court or take the case to the European court for human rights.

We also have a fundraising for norwegian funders, so this funding is meant for those outside Norway who wants to help Mahad.
