Help Madeeha Niazi raise funds for her last module fees

My name is Madeeha Niazi and I currently live in Lahore, Pakistan. I am a mother of four beautiful children while pursuing my goal to become an experienced researcher in the field of mental health therapy. I am enrolled into Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King's College London Online. I am on my last module ''Techniques in Neuroscience'' when the money fell short. The money raised from this campaign will go into the module fees which is at 1365 GBP/ $1880.

I had myself struggled with paralyzing anxiety and depression and the motivation to innovate mental health services also comes from personal experiences.I was already inspired by the workings of the mind during my undergraduate studies in psychology but unfortunately my education was abruptly cut short due to cultural restrictions. However, I had later availed opportunities to work in rural Pakistan in early years and primary education. This teaching experience greatly renewed my interest in the process of learning. I was awarded the Vice Chancellor International Scholarship at the University of the Arts London to undertake MA in Applied Imagination in the Creative Industries which is part of the culture and enterprise programme. As an MA student, I had the opportunity to deepen my research skills. My MA research project was an exploratory study of inducing visual mental imagery in response to emotion words. This research experience motivated me to scientifically pursue research in this area. Although I was interested in psychology from a young age but was unable to pursue further education because of lack of opportunities as a woman in rural Pakistan. I had continued my education against family expectations, therefore, I can vouch for my ability to work under pressure.

PGC in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health at King’s College London Online is helping me build the scientific background in cognitive psychology, neuroscience and neuroimagery so I can pursue a research career in neuroscience.
