My father, Lysander King Sr. is 83 years old and runs a machine shop to make ends meet. He suddenly started to experience loss of taste and smell, fever, cough, and shortness of breath and the very next day tested positive for COVID-19. By then, his O2 saturation had also gone down to 69%. He was hospitalized on May 19 of this year and since then has recovered and is ready for discharge to a quarantined area, but is stranded with 324,000 Php out of the 850,000 Php total hospital bill. The family pulled all their resources and could only come up with so much. Every day he remains, the amount increases and they will not release him until they pay the remaining balance. Tho the challenge is yet to be over. My father still needs medications for his lungs and heart, and still needs oxygen support. He is yet to recuperate from the damages made by COVID-19. He will be unable to work for at least 6 months according to the doctors, and we think he should retire for good. Donations are still humbly accepted for the continuation of his recovery.
