Dear Friends,
About two weeks ago, Chassy, my sister, saw a stray dog in our neighborhood. She narrated the scene, and it was a difficult sight to look at—the dog was dragging his hind legs as he tried, and ultimately failed, to walk. The security guards in our village noticed my sister looking at the dog and they said that the dog got hit by a speeding car, and left the dog fatally injured. The dog has been seen for days walking this way—his hind legs being dragged—along our village's streets, making him very vulnerable to more hit-and-run accidents that may potentially end his life. So my sister took him home.
With the help of our neighbors Ramil and Reggie, my sister began feeding the dog and my neighbors gave him a makeshift shelter outside their house. Eventually, he became "Lucky," a name aptly given to him by Ramil.
Lucky is a very grateful, appreciative dog. He comes when called and really makes an effort to go your way even if his legs make it difficult for him. He sometimes cries, probably because of the pain or the frustration that is brought to him by his cone, but mostly he just seems happy about his tale of survival.
We feed Lucky everyday and make sure he has water on his bowl, and after my sister took Lucky to the vet, we found out that Lucky's legs need to be amputated, and that the total amount for this procedure (including his meds, deworming, anaesthesia, boarding costs, dextrose) will amount to PHP15,330. Here's a breakdown:
This is where the Internet's generosity kicks in! We would appreciate any amount you'd be able to give to help us help Lucky get the surgery and treatment he needs to live longer and happier. Your donation will help Lucky get back on track, and anything in excess will be used as he recovers: food, post-surgery meds, and shelter. Spreading this campaign via your social media pages will also go a long way, so share if you can! We will be grateful.
We appreciate you taking the time reading this and thank you for sharing! Have a great one, and thank you again!
