A man who was made redundant at the end of a temporary job has been ordered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to work for the same firm for six months without pay. Electronics specialist John McArthur, now unemployed, is living off 16p tins of spaghetti and without heating after being sanctioned by a jobcentre for refusing to work unpaid for LAMH Recycle in Motherwell, a Scottish social enterprise. I see this man every morning on my way to work standing in the cold alone trying to get peoples attention to stop a ridiculous government scheme that is slave labour. A lot of people in britain are unaware of what the community work placements scheme is and this man for months has been bravely and continously standing his ground for his beliefs whilst doing it in a respectful and peaceful way. This is a good cause whether you are donating to stick it to the tories or because you agree it's wrong to economicaly force some one to work for free please give anything you can to give the brave soul heating and food just the essentials we all need to survive.
