Please do forward this invitation to anybody who knows Gabbie that I might have missed during this difficult time.

UPDATE: 12th July 2019
Dear friends of Gabbie, Lloyd and Anya,
We have heartbreaking news to share.
Gabbie lost her struggle with the immune system failure she has been fighting for the past nearly two months and she passed away late last night.
A memorial will be held in Hong Kong on Saturday, 27 July. Details to follow. Lloyd invites all his friends and those who loved and knew Gabbie to attend this gathering.
Lloyd and Anya will post a message here when they can to thank you all for your love and support. Please respect their privacy in this difficult time.
The response from all of you has been incredible and moving, and of course from a practical standpoint extremely valuable to Lloyd and Anya while they were focused completely on looking after Gabbie.
Please continue to share and support them, as the family still face heavy financial burdens ahead.
Thank you all again for your caring, love and generosity.
With love,
Jeri, Keith & Rachel
If you're a trail or ultra runner, you'll probably have seen his work, or even been a part of it.
Lloyd Belcher (Lloyd Belcher Visuals) has been producing incredible images and short films for the sporting community all over the world. As an accomplished trail and ultra runner himself, Lloyd has been able to capture outstanding images by fast packing with his camera equipment over technical terrain, hiding off-trail to document poignant race emotions, preserving unforgettable moments for many runners.

In late May 2019, his beloved wife Gabbie collapsed and fell into a coma as a result of a chest infection. Gabbie was taking medication for her thyroid condition, and a rare side effect of this medication is a suppression of the immune system. Lloyd and Gabbie were totally unaware of this, and thus began the heartbreaking situation they now find themselves in where opportunistic infections have caused huge damage due to Gabbie’s compromised immune system.
Since her sudden hospitalisation, Lloyd and their daughter Anya, 18, have been keeping vigil by Gabbie's side day and night, monitoring her progress and praying for her recovery. It's been one challenge after another, from internal bleeding to kidney failure, but they are trying to keep a positive outlook.
Gabbie, who is an educator at an international school, has been in the Intensive Care Unit in a Singapore hospital for 6 weeks to date. Doctors are still working hard to find and eradicate the many infections ravaging her body. While she is no longer in a coma, she's on an extremely high dependency, requiring kidney dialysis and round-the-clock monitoring to ensure normal functioning.
This is an excerpt from Lloyd's website, a statement about the future:
"Gabbie & I have been married for almost 24 years. She is my best friend with whom I have walked together through many, many good and bad times. She is my wise counsel and the reason for many life decisions. She has sacrificed much for me and I would never have accomplished many things in my own life (including finishing my PhD) without her love, commitment, support and encouragement. She is a proud Chinese woman who holds dear to her culture and traditions and yet would give me a green light each year to spend Chinese New Year running around Hong Kong to work on the Four Trails Ultra Challenge. She is also a loving & devoted mum to our daughter Anya. When people comment on how impressed they are with our daughter Anya, I often remark that it is mainly because of her amazing mum. Hours as dark as these shape life perspectives and I am more aware than ever before just how much Gabbie means to me and how the future will change.
As I write this, Gabbie is still critically ill in a hospital Intensive Care Unit and I have been living in the ICU waiting room for the past weeks to be near to & care for Gabbie. I have cancelled all future work assignments for the time being and it is possible that I will not return to filming and photography work. All work projects are on hold. From Rungkopi through to other assignments that I was working on when Gabbie became ill, I cannot give any time or any assurance that I will even be able to complete these. I am not accepting any new work assignments or delivering any photography workshops."
Lloyd has been sleeping on the ICU Waiting Room floor these past 6 weeks, focusing all his energies on Gabbie and Anya. The future is uncertain as Gabbie's progress is upsettingly erratic, every step forward seems to be accompanied by something else going wrong.
We're appealing to all of you for a little help. The trail and ultra community is a family. And Lloyd, Gabbie and Anya need our help. With no income, escalating medical bills, university fees and a very uncertain future, we'd like to ask for a little support towards their non-existent funds, to help out with the crazy expenses being incurred, and to allow Lloyd and Anya to care for Gabbie without having the additional stress of worrying about their financial situation.
If you've seen and liked Lloyd's work, met him, worked with him or would just like to help, please take this opportunity to give back to Lloyd and family when they are in such dire need.

We (trail running community) appreciates what Lloyd & and his family had contributed and sacrificed to promote our beloved sport. Hence this little sum to help them get through a difficult time and hopefully get him back on track!
