Help Liliana see her son graduating

Liliana Cozma needs our help

„I hope I’ll have the chance to live longer, to see my son graduating”

Having a very rare type of cancer, Liliana Cozma, an IT specialist from Bucharest, Romania, needs financial support to increase her chances of surviving this disease. In February 2016 she was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) and liver metastases, level 3. This type of cancer affects one in 100,000 people. This disease did not respond to common treatments, such as chimioterapy or radioterapy, and did not stop progressing after a difficult surgery carried out in Turkey. Therefore, at this moment, Liliana is being treated with immunotherapy, a new revolutionary treatment, and she has to travel every four weeks in Germany.

This treatment costs at least 6,000 euro per month, depending on what the German doctors administrate to Liliana. Unfortunately, the treatment is not supported by the Romanian Health Insurance House and Liliana needs a minimum of 10 sessions to recover. Now, she only did 3 sessions, and she needs financial support to continue. The chances of recovery are high, and the actual evidences are the various types of cancers and other serious diseases cured with this treatment by the German doctors. However, money is now the great obstacle to her recovery.

Liliana is hugely supported by her family – she has a wonderful husband and a great son: „I wish with all my heart to be there when he graduates from university. I wish with all my heart to be able to enjoy his wedding and raise my grandchildren”, Liliana says.

The immunotherapy treatment is carried out by Dr. Thomas Nesselhut in Duderstadt, Germany. This treatment consists mainly in a vaccine with dendritic cells, a discovery that was awarded with the Nobel Prize for Medicine.
