This is Lienkie's story..

It started on the 9th of October 2018. I had an unbearable headache and my face was swollen the previous day so i decided to go to the DR. They diagnosed me with bell's palsy and gave me medicine for the symptoms. My symptoms never got better so i decided to see a different doctor. The Dr sent me for X-Rays and informed me that i have sinus problems. I took the X-Rays to a different Dr for a second opinion and he confirmed that my sinuses were severely blocked and that he will give me medicine to clear it up however if the medicine doesn't work i will have to go for a operation. Due to all the Dr bills our funds were depleted and i decided to go to Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg. They sent me for a CT Scan and gave me more medicine. On the 2nd of December 2018 the pain got unbearable and i decided to go to a government hospital in Potch. The Dr on duty informed me that i need to go for an operation asap and the surgery was done a few days later. After the operation my wound got septic. The nurses never cleaned my wound. They informed me that i have to clean it myself . At this stage i have a whole in my face and the infection is very bad. When i clean my wound i can feel the bone in my nose. My children and family are not allowed to come and visit me due to the infection being so bad. I am getting no assistance from the staff here and the Dr's cant tell me what the problem is. My dream is to be home for Christmas with my children.

We are pleading for assistance for Lienkie. Any donation will be appreciated and will help us get our friend the proper care that she deserves. She is 35 km from her family and friends. she hasn't seen her children in days. We are very worried that the infection will spread and cause more damage to her face. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
