My name is Lamoy Gordon. I am currently an undergraduate student at Andrews University, in Michigan, USA, where I am pursuing a double major in Mathematics and Biology with a biomedical emphasis. It is my hope to contribute to the growth of the nation in my very small way, and therefore I have sought to further my studies. I see education as a valuable asset and have made optimum use of the opportunities afforded me thus far to obtain a proper education. But, my dreams are being threatened by my abject poverty. One dream of mine was to study Medicine and Surgery at a prestigious international university, and this dream was made one step closer in becoming a reality when I was extended the opportunity to study Pre-Medicine last fall at Andrews University. However, this reality is currently being forced to an abrupt ending because of the financial status of my family, resulting from unforeseen financial issues. Although I am desirous of seeing my studies through to completion, I am unable to finance the remainder of my journey. It is with this intention that I am earnestly seeking sponsors to provide any possible assistance. I finished my first year in college with a 4.0 GPA, and I am determined to continue with this trend. In addition, I was engaged in several extra-curricular activities during and after school hours. These serve primarily as motivation for my mental, moral and social growth. I place a high value on humanitarianism, and as such, have made it a duty of mine to get involve in school groups that focus primarily on giving voluntary services to the local community. Apart from my academic and extracurricular achievements, I am also of an excellent and exemplary moral character. I am straightforward, honest, friendly, diligent and compassionate and I am also very hard-working. I take keen interest in conforming to standards set and to achieving high standards of work and maintaining them.
