On the morning of 20th of October I decided to go out for a run in the olive fields , after 15 minute of running in the silence of the early morning I stumbled upon a huge coconut looking thing..in the middle of the road. I didn't know what it was and I was also a bit scared to find out. I made some sound to see wether this thing moved..and I saw a head rising. It was a dog. It was a dog!! A poor, malnourished, dehydrated, sick dog, probably abandoned due to her sickness.. who knows?! I quickly run back home and got some dog food from my neighbour, took the car and went back to the place where she was. I fed her, and she ate with appetite. you can see from the pictures the state she was in, no hair, wounds everywhere, thin as you can be with all ribs clearly sticking out. I was shocked. So shocked. I went back home after feeding her (twice) and contacted 'little Noah's ark' a facebook group that takes care of stranded animals here in Crete. It became a huge post, with a lot of controversy and concern. Most people encouraged me to take her back home and take her to the vet, but my financial situation didn't allow me to do so as I was also volunteering here in Crete in exchange for housing and I have no income. Many people offered to help financially and everyone was glad I decided to adopt her and take care good care of her. But sometimes words stay words, and some other times they become reality. I received some money that allowed me to take het to the vet and make all necessary tests, feed her and bought medicines and natural products to sustain her in her recovery. The results unfortunately confirmed she has leishmaniose. I was offered the option between homeopathic treatment and standard one. I chose homeopathic one and followed through the procedure, cooked her nice chicken-rice and vegetables soups and attended the wounds as much as i possibly could. But things are not running smoothly now...some wounds heal and some other open, now she has big deep wounds on her lower back and on her elbows, and her mood is very dull. I am creating this fundraise page to ask for some financial help to buy her the medicines she needs, food and supplements in order to fight this illness. Please help if you can, even a small amount would be great. Thank you <3
