My name is Āmai Rawiri, I am 17 years old from New Zealand. Since I was 6 I have been running small businesses at events all over New Zealand.
I started out watching balloon twisting videos on youtube and selling balloon animals at the local markets in the Far North of NZ, I then added pop-corn and slushies. I found it to be so much fun...... however, I didn't like when people gave me money and I have to give "change" back?????? I didn't understand it at that point.
A few years later I opened up a car washing business on the main highway at my grandparents home, I even had my neighbour working for me.
My mother was a principal at one of the local schools and she organised the Christmas In The Park for our community. I had a store there which sold hotdogs, slushies, popcorn, glow sticks, glow lights, cotton candy and a few more. I was setting up and along comes one of the commercial food stores from the city......... my heart dropped but I still had fun working the store.
Fast forward a few years and I am now 17 and a passionate swimmer, photographer and "model" but I don't really like calling myself that, not sure why.
Following my drive for swimming I am working towards setting up my own swimming brand for New Zealand. We do not have a brand that is big and up there like Arena, Speedo, Mad Wave and so I would love to build something big like that for New Zealand's swimming community to have for it's self.
Now this is where you guys come in. Starting a business cost money. Thats that. It just does. As much as I want to follow my dreams I do not have the capital to start my venture.
I need capital in order to start working with manufacturers to produce my product and get my online store up and running.
I have already started product and brand development and done as much as I can without money but it is now at the stage where it requires the funds in order to take that further step.
I would graciously appreciate any support anyone offers me. If anyone Ould like to contact me for more information or to follow up please let me know.
