Hi everyone. I hope all is well with you and your families. Life can be very challenging at times but I hope everyone's still having a wonderful time enjoying our life’s blessing everyday.

Today, I'd like to share a story about our youngest sister, the strongest girl I know who has been fighting for her life against chronic kidney disease for a year now. Her name is Kimberly. She's 28 years old, married and has a little 2 year old adorable boy.
Just last June of 2022 she was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney disease Stage 5. Unfortunately, both her kidneys failed and she has been on dialysis treatment two times a week.
We really could not believe this news up until this moment. The used to be a healthy and charming girl is facing this chronic disease. She just got married in 2021 and had a child. She’s supposed to be enjoying the days with her family, not in the hospital bed. Everyday, we see hope in her despite the distress that she’s been going through.
As a sister, I’m creating this fund raising to at least ease the burden of their little family and to help my sister.

In June 2022, she was initially confined due to swelling & numbness of her feet, loss of appetite, frequent vomiting with high blood pressure. She called one night days before this day that she felt numbness on her face. I told her to go directly to the doctor and have herself checked. She was given over the counter meds that time as her blood pressure has been high. We thought it may just be part of stress and over fatigue.Days passed and she has lost her appetite, she's been vomiting. All food and medications she took in, she'll just end up throwing. She seemed really weak until one day she totally lost her strength. She felt numbness in her feet and could barely move so we rushed her to the hospital.
This was the day when we found out her creatinine level had reached 1000 and that she needed to undergo dialysis treatment. Her hemoglobin level was very low and she needed 4 bags of AB+ blood.
We could not bear the news. It's as if the heaven's fell to us from the sky when we found out that both her kidneys have already failed.

In July 2022, she was adjusting to her dialysis treatment. Her face and feet have been swelling each morning. She’s taking a lot of medications and following a strict diet. She was only allowed to drink 350ml of water a day.
Everyday, we see her not usual face but we always remind her that she looks good and that she’ll remain strong to keep fighting.
Also, both our parents or her husband would escort her to her dialysis treatment each week. Thank God for our supportive family.
With her costly dialysis treatment each week, we would be liveselling dresses and all other clothings via Facebook Live.
She would even be doing live selling after 4 hours of her treatment when her body was still somehow okay. She would also sell jewelry online to earn money. Aside from her husband's help, we were able to get grants from our local government but not enough for the weekly cost of her treatment and medications. She has to pay for the treatment and the medicine used for the injection so her hemoglobin level would stay normal.
Years passed, she had several appointments with the doctors due to the fluid in her lungs, shortness of breath and chest pain.

Last dawn of 5th Feb 2024 was the toughest time of her life and to all of us. She experienced chest pain and shortness of breath even though she’s hooked up with oxygen. We rushed her again to the hospital as she was really having difficulty breathing and chest pain was unbearable. At the hospital , it was almost a day of not being able to breathe properly yet she survived it. After a few tests, and blood transfusions, sadly the cardiologist confirmed to us that she had a heart attack. He said that a part of her heat is pumping low. She was then given several medications for it and was advised to be on dialysis treatment three times a week.

Our sister has been through so much. She has been fighting so hard and so we have to fight for her too. We’ve always seen her strong. She smiles even though how painful things have been. Now, we are humbly knocking on your hearts for any help that you might be able to share for her as we need assistance for her medical bills being in and out from the hospital plus her medication. Please don’t think that any amount is small. A little help from everyone is a big help.

We hope and pray that she’d eventually respond to her meds positively and become stable so we can proceed to her kidney transplant.
We firmly hope that she’d be able to get her normal life back and experience the beauty of life again with her family. God help us.
Thanks for your precious time and may God bless you all abundantly.

Yours sincerely,
Karina
