The plan

Real Pay, in collaboration with Transforming Kids, has undertaken a project to assist Laerskool Voortrekker Eeufees in collecting stationery for underprivileged learners for the 2019 school year.

The execution

We invite you to participate in our effort to support these learners.

Why you?

Our aim is to assist these learners with the help from the broader community. We would like to ask you to assist us with any donations possible so we can provide the school with some funds to purchase much needed stationary and supplies. We are also engaging with other schools in the area and corporate partners for further assistance.

Who we are

Our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme is an initiative from Real Pay (www.realpay.co.za) to uplift our communities and to imbed a sense of social responsibility within our own company and the broader community. Transforming Kids has been one of our CSI projects since 2007.

Transforming Kids (www.transformingkids.org.za) is a trust formed in 2007 and operates as a Public Benefit- and Non-Profit Organisation, aiming to minister character development programs to children. Their specific purpose is to implement and facilitate relationship building, and leadership training at schools, churches and in the community. Training and support are provided to the teachers, parents and youth leaders involved.

Laerskool Voortrekker Eeufees is situated in Pretoria North and currently has 1 315 learners. Although their school fees are probably the most affordable of all the schools in the area, there are still about 48% of families who do not have the financial ability to pay any school fees at all. Unfortunately, this places tremendous pressure on the school to fulfill all its financial obligations. Nevertheless, they try to support learners in distress in various areas of need.

A letter from the school:

Requirements

We are hoping to collect around R75 000 (Just shy of $5300) to give to the school. The school will use this money to buy much needed supplies and stationary for learners who can't afford it.

We are hoping to get more than we are asking for so that we can extend the program to provide these kids with shoes and warm cloths when winter comes around in April/May.

How to get involved

Please take some time to consider a donation.
