Help kidney patient in the Philippines

Christian Cahapin, age 26, a citizen of the Philippines, was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease - End Stage on January 16, 2020. He needs lifetime dialysis and medication, lab tests, and doctor visits, which together cost over $1,000/month. $1,000/month is more than the vast majority of Filipinos earn when employed. Christian is now unemployed, as are millions of other Filipinos, in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, which has decimated the economy of the Philippines.

Christian is one of the former employees of Saiff Solutions, Inc., a technical writing and multimedia services outsourcing company based in Tagaytay City, Cavite, Philippines, whose primary owner is a US citizen, Barry Saiff. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Saiff Solutions has struggled to earn enough revenue to pay full salaries to our staff, and we've had to drastically reduce the size of our team. We are not just a company, we are a family, and we are committed to the well-being of both our current and former team members. The picture shows most of our team in better times, when we were a larger group, in June 2018.

Many of our current and former staff are suffering from financial hardship, and in some cases from medical crises. The first $10,000 raised will be given to Christian Cahapin, for his medical and other expenses. Any additional funds raised will be spent to support the well-being of current and former Saiff Solutions team members, in various ways, at the sole discretion of Barry Saiff.

The national health care system in the Philippines covers only a fraction of the costs for major medical interventions. Christian's life depends on these costs being covered. He needs the funds immediately, and he will also need ongoing financial support.

UPDATE JUNE 4, 2020:

Christian is undergoing dialysis, four times/day, every 6 hours, in his home. He has a kidney donor. If we can raise $10,000, Christian can have a kidney transplant, and then he won't need dialysis any more.
