Campaign Story
Hello, my name is Kevin and I have 3 semesters left of school. I started college as an Aerospace Engineering candidate but have since then changed my career focus, and I am now pursuing degrees in both Chemical Engineering and Economics. I love technology and science, but also have a keen interest in business and markets. I hope to perhaps procure a logistics role at a large and reputable chemical products firm.
I have passed maximum time frame (the limit on the number of hours one can pursue before the Financial Aid Office no longer offers financial assistance). I have completed 144 credit hours and need another 41 credit hours to complete my degrees. So, I am asking for donations.
I need $10,802 to return to school for the Spring semester (I was not able to return for the current Fall semester). I estimate that I will need $32,584 for all three semesters (tuition has more than doubled since my freshman year and it is hard to gauge how much the yearly increase will be, so this may be an underestimate). If there are excess funds they will go into paying off my student loans. I have received over $17,000 in scholarships and grants in the past, but had to take out federal, state, and private loans to pay for school. My student debt peaked at nearly $87,000. My private loans were cancelled this year, but since the IRS counts cancelled debt as income, this will be a bit of a tax nightmare. Nevertheless, I am optimistic that I can finish strong as a dual-degree candidate if I can acquire the necessary funds. So, please give whatever you can and help me walk across that stage in 2017!
