A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...
Hello! My name is Jillian. I am a flautist and a student composer. I love music. I love how it makes me feel, I love what it can communicate, I love how it can heal, and I love that it is one of the rare things that can so easily link poeple together. I am a college student currently in my Junior year of a music education degree. I plan to continue on for a Masters degree in Music Therapy after I finish my Bacheleors program. I work full time and average nine classes a semester while building a family. I am a friend, a collegue, an optomist, and I am in need of help.
ABOUT MY CAUSE...
Earlier this year, through a series of poor thinking and unfortunate events, I lost my flute. As a music student in my Junior year this instrument was a vital part of my education and a complete neccessity to finishing my degree. I am currently doing everything within my power to get my instrument back, however odds are not in my favor. Without a new flute for the upcoming Spring semester I will not be able to continue my studies. And honestly, as an older student I am no spring chicken! I would like to get my degree before my 35th birthday! After examinig my situation over the past few weeks I have realized that I will be unable to cover the full cost of a new instrument on my own within the amount of time I have. Here is where your support can help.
WHAT I AM ASKING...
I am asking for your help to keep my dream of getting my music degree alive! You can donate ANYTHING! I will need between $2000-$3000 to purchase and instrument at the level expected of me at this stage of my music studies. Any contribution amount is welcome and appreciated! Every cent will help. :) I understand not everyone can contribute. I ask that you share my cause online wherever you can. 'Tis the season of giving and like I said, I'm an optomist! The generosity of strangers should never be taken for granted.
WHAT YOU WILL GET IN RETURN...
Besides undying gratitude, I am prepared to offer the following "Thank you!" gestures with each donation:
1) Your name under special thanks in my Junior and Senior Recital Programs
2) A short whistling tune or limerick composed specially for you by me, imagine that!
3) A flautist willing to play 1 free event! Want to do something romantic for your lady?
Are you in need of a wandering minstrel? Perhaps some Jethro Tull on a rainey day to
lighten your mood? (some restrictions apply to in person performances, but recordings
are always available) :)
I thank you all ahead of time for any contributions and sharing of my cause with others! Blessings to you and remember, "Some people have lives, some people have music!", help me get my music back!
