Help keep Kilauea EcoGuides open!

Due to the current eruption situation here on Kilauea volcano, our small family run business is in serious jeopardy of being shutdown.

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park has been closed for 3 weeks, and the re-opening is uncertain at this time. Our lava hikes are not possible due to the now dangerous conditions in the area. Because of this our business is grinding to a halt and our monthly expenses are not being met.

Our goal is to raise enough money to keep our business open so that we can share an experience similar to the one you had on your private tour with future guests. All donations will be used to fulfill monthly business costs in hopes that we can remain open until the National Park re-opens.

In the meantime, our lead guide Erik is working on a flower farm here in Volcano Village. Malia is working at a restaurant in Volcano Village. While the income from these temporary positions is helping, it is unfortunately not sufficient to meet business costs for Kilauea EcoGuides.

On a side note, we found out recently that Malia is pregnant! This is a blessing for our family and we could not be happier, however our costs have gone up even more and with minimal income we are a bit worried to be quite honest. We want to make sure Malia and baby are healthy and have the proper care they need.
