Help Kayla fund her Honours in Chemistry

Hello everyone.

My name is Kayla Heinrich, a South African student living in Cape Town.

I have started this fundraiser in an attempt to raise the money I need to be able to complete my Honours in Chemistry at Stellenbosch University this year. I have been very fortunate in the past few years to be able to complete my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. I work very hard and achieve results that I am extremely proud of, however after applying to many companies as well as the university for funding I have not been fortunate enough to receive a grant.

The fees for the year are in the region of R50 000 (about $3200) and I've been working two jobs during 2019 to save up as much as possible. Unfortunately I now only have one job that I can do a couple times a week and it is not enough to fully pay the university fees.

I thought I would tell you a bit more about myself. I am the oldest of three children and have two amazing parents as well as a beautiful doggie named Scraggles. My hobbies include journalling, yoga, tutoring and spending time with family and friends. I am a passionate cook and I always love trying out new recipes and making my family members taste test my inventions. My passion for life lies in helping others. I have been tutoring for 6 years now and have found that teaching is a very rewarding profession where I am able to help my students become more confident in academics. I believe everyone should be able to excel in academics and that each student should be taught by a teacher who tailors their teaching experience to that student. Aside from my teaching passion, I am very passionate about Chemistry and enjoy every moment studying it, I cannot imagine a life without it.

It has been a tough road to get this far and I'm more fired up than ever to push through the challenging academic year ahead of me.
