Hello,

My friend Katrina (22 years old) lives in the Philippines in Parañaque, a city near Manila. She has been having some financial issues for some time now. She and her family always managed to get through it but right now they seriously need help. Her father can't work because he claims to not need to work and despite her mother's best attempts, she can't find a successful job either. Her mother has tried to run a shop before but it wasn't successful and had to close down. Katrina also has three sisters, two of which are too young to work and the other has recently quit her job for personal reasons. Kat herself has been trying to find a job but so far she has not been hired anywhere. This is due to the fact that she was unable to finish her art college course due to financial issues and personal struggles with social anxiety and depression.

Now due to having run out of savings and having little to no source of income, they can no longer afford to buy food or pay for bills. That's why I decided to make this fundraiser for them. The money raised will go straight to Katrina and she will use it to pay for bills, food and money for transport to potential job interviews. We are hoping that this financial crisis is temporary but as we're not sure I've put in a goal that's large enough to help them for a while, at least until Katrina herself has found a job.

Any extra information from Katrina herself can be found on her twitter account @hoshidorks, this is also where you can message her if you have any questions about her situation. If you prefer to ask questions by email you can send your questions to [email protected] where either me or Katrina will answer you, depending on whether she has internet access or not. There are certain things she would prefer to not put out onto the internet about her mental health and family issues. However if you do send an email or direct message any questions about that can and will be answered.

Right now the most important thing is that they have money to buy food for the coming month, then bills and public transport money. They have no food as I am typing this so time is of the essence. Any donation is very much appreciated, it doesn't matter how large or small it is. Even just a few dollars would be a great help.

Thank you for taking your time to read Katrina's story and even more thank you if you donate.
