I'm Ouma Vincent from Homa Bay county in Kenya I am a founder member of Kanyaidho community organic permaculture project where we deal with Permaculture and hope to start an orphanage as we have many community members in needy whom we are helping with their needs and the main aim of the project is to eradicate poverty and work towards sustainability through embarking on permaculture. I began this project after relating the challenges most of our community members were undergoing, within our project we grow different vegetables e.g. cabbage, spinach, kale, onion, pumpkin, black nightshade and coriander, and some fruits such as avocado, pawpaw, mango, soursop fruit, white sapote and oranges. we also rear some rabbits on the farm. The rabbit droppings we use as manure within the farm. The project is of great benefit to our community members and even those from nearby communities as well and a lot of youths have seen the positivity of the project and are eager to help. In our project area a large number of orphan, semi orphan and street children are found. The problem of orphans and street children is acute due to urbanization and industrialization, and in part due to the deaths of HIV/AIDS affected persons, lack of love and security in the families, also family disputes, unwanted pregnancies. These orphan and street children are left without care and support. These children are involved in rag picking, pick pocketing and participating in antisocial and criminal activities. Therefore, we envisage integrating these children in society by providing care, support and protection.

Our Mission: Integrating the orphan, semi orphan and street children in society by providing care, support and protection through shelter, food, and education is our mission. Our vision is to have a society where children are respected and valued; where all children are cherished and supported; where they enjoy a fulfilling childhood and realize their full potential. We lack clean water, people struggle a lot to get clean water in my community as you know. Access to clean water changes everything; it’s a stepping-stone to development. When people gain access to clean water, they’re better able to practice good hygiene and sanitation. Children enjoy good health and are more likely to attend school. Parents put aside their worries about water-related diseases and lack of clean water access. Instead, they can water crops and livestock and diversify their incomes. Communities no longer vie for rights to a waterhole. So we are highly requesting for your support through donation to help us get clean water and farm tools to help in the community. Thanks in advance as we look forward to receiving support from you.
