Hi, my name is Wendy Walker, and I am fundraising for my brother Jonathan is a generous and charismatic Christian who has served his country as an Army Ranger and US Marshall most of his life. Jonathan is also a loving husband and exceptional father to 3 children, Elijah Bria, & Alexa.

Roughly three years ago Jonathan was involved in a very tragic car accident that sadly resulted in the death of a young woman. While Jonathan was initially accused of intoxication, thankfully during his recent trial Jonathan was exonerated of any/all intoxication related charges. But to our devastation, he was convicted of manslaughter.

Throughout Jonathan’s entire legal process, he has continually received prejudiced and unfair treatment from local law enforcement and the judicial system because of his US Marshall status.

In the state of Texas, to convict a defendant of manslaughter, prosecutors must be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant recklessly caused the death of another individual. Jonathan was not driving recklessly; he made a very simple and very regrettable mistake by accidently turning the wrong way down a one-way road because he was unfamiliar with the area and there were no traffic signs indicating or alerting him that the road he entered was for one-way traffic only. To this day, there are still no signs or indications at this location alerting drivers of one-way traffic. The authorities have done nothing to rectify the dangerous situation or help prevent a horrible accident like this from occurring again.

Despite the fact this situation was a genuine accident and was unintentionally caused, the death of a young woman was and is still very upsetting. As you can imagine, the jury had a very hard time putting their empathy and emotions for this woman and her family aside during Jonathan’s trial. Not only was Jonathan convicted of an unfair verdict, but he was also very excessively sentenced of 11.5 years in prison. To make things even worse, the media has gone to great lengths in their effort to smear the name of a law enforcement officer. Reporting as fact, details and accusations that were proven to be false and/or dismissed during his trial, in order to further push their preferred narrative.

Unintentionally causing someone else’s death is a traumatizing experience that has left Jonathan with immense personal remorse. If you know Jonathan personally, then you know his life’s purpose has been to protect and keep people safe. Jonathan has spent much of his life devoted to enforcing and upholding the law, not breaking it. Although this horrifying accident had very a devastating outcome, it was not the result of Jonathan committing a crime.

Our family is desperately trying to raise money so that Jonathan can afford to appeal this very unjust verdict and excessive prison sentence. We very humbly ask for any help you may be able to contribute so that we can to bring Jonathan back home to his wife and kids as soon as possible. No amount is insignificant, every dollar is very graciously appreciated by our entire family.

100% of the funds will be used for Appeal Legal Expenses.
