Hi, my name is Jonathan. I am a 17 years old Korean-Indonesia kid who have a dream to become a professional football player. Living in a third world country like Indonesia has been hard for anyone that wants to become a professional football player. It's very difficult to play overseas as Indonesia has little support for their football player to play outside Indonesia. There are no links with international football clubs as most of international football academy such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Boca Junior, and others closed due to disagreement between both parties which makes a lot harder for young talents to be scouted. I don't really understand how football work here in Indonesia because I saw too many professional football player that used to play for the Indonesian national team ended up having another job as a security, taxi driver, and others as professional football player have a very low salary here in Indonesia and even some of them are not being paid by their own respective team // club. I tried asking my dad to move back to South Korea so that I can start my football career there which is a lot easier with tons of opportunities for young talent playing football in South Korea but sadly my father has a job here in Indonesia and not planning to move back to South Korea. I tried many other ways including posting videos of my football matches. All ended terribly as no one watches the video. Money is the only option at this point to become a professional football player outside Indonesia.

I have to admit that I am a pretty good football player myself. Winning tons of tournaments with my school, joining football international academies (before it was closed) in Jakarta and winning several individual awards which makes myself very proud and I really don't want to waste my 12 years of hard work and ended up doing a normal job. I never wanted to waste my talent that is why I think fundraiser is the only way for me to achieve my dream. In 2012, I joined Manchester United Soccer School in Jakarta, basically its a football camp that lasted only for 3 days and it will pick 3 winners out of 30-40 players that attended to camp. Those 3 winners will be selected to join the South East Asia qualification round and the winner will be selected to join the finals in Manchester, United Kingdom. I am a huge Manchester United fan myself and I thought this would be a great opportunity. I joined the camp and won the first place by collecting most points.

But do to miscommunication between my family and Manchester United Soccer School, I missed the flight and the whole qualification round. I thought that was the perfect opportunity for me to play football while being watch by international scouts but everything failed real quick. I never felt so depressed in my life and I was just 12 years old at that time.

I did not stop playing football. I never give up as I continue playing football for my school team. As I said before, I joined a few different football academy like Chelsea, Liverpool, and Boca Junior. But then I soon realised that joining a football academy in Indonesia is just for fun and experience. No one has been chosen, selected, scouted or whatever you want to call it which wasted a lot of my time. I'm 17 now and I'm racing against time to become a professional football player. I only live once and I want to earn money while doing something that I love and live my life to the fullest. I don't want to spent my adulthood spending my time working in a job that I never interested at.

That is the main reason why I mentioned that money is the only possible way to become a professional football player. There is an academy that is called ISM Academy that is located in Perugia, Italy. According to the website ISM was created from the experience gained by its managers from 1998 to 2005 at the AC Perugia Youth Academy. ISM Academy also have a program called "Talent Identification Program" that helps player develop their talent so that they can get scouted and go professional. There are two different types of the Talent Identification Program. The short length program and the round-year program where players trained for 9 months and get a football trial every 3 months. That is a huge opportunity for me to become a professional football player! How do I know that this program is trusted? There are around 12 Indonesian player went there and 3 of the players are scouted and already is a professional football player right now playing in Italy. The year-round program cost around €18.000 which is very expensive. I don't want my parents to pay this huge amount of money because I don't want to be a burden. €18.000 already includes school // accommodation, transport, meals, and football equipments. Once I join to program, I'll do my very best to get scouted so you don't have to worry about me as I am very confidence about my football skill.

As clock keeps ticking and I am going to be an adult soon. I feel like its going to be my time soon to earn money and help both of my beloved parents financially as they spent most of their life working and earn money just to fulfil my daily needs. The purpose of playing football is not just to achieve my dream, but also to earn enough money to help my parents, my family, my friends, and people that needed help. Football is the only way for me to earn enough money to help people.

That is why I need help from you all! I hope you all understand my feelings and help me earn money to become a professional football player!

Thank You!

-Jonathan
