The Need Is Great But The Workers Are Few!

According to Joshua Projects there are approximately 16 900 people groups in the world of which about 7000 are still unreached. Who are the unreached? They are people groups of which there are less than 2% evangelical Christians and where there are no church planting programs in place, therefore, they have little to no chance of ever hearing the gospel.

Our Mission

We feel that God has called us as a family to go and help spread the gospel to the unreached and the isolated. We believe that God has given each and every believer passions and gifts whether it be talents and/or finances, to be used to make disciples of all nations. In our family, besides having a passion for preaching the Good News, John has a passion for flying and currently has his Private Pilot's Licence. He wants to use aviation as a tool to help reach the unreached with the Gospel as well as to help those in desperate need.

How can aviation be used to help those in need and to spread the Gospel?

One of the reasons why so many people groups are still unreached is because they stay in isolated areas where there is little to no access to the civilised world. This means that getting missionaries and Bible translators to them is very difficult. These people are also cut off from getting aid such as medical help. However, with the aid of the aeroplane, access to the outside world becomes far easier. Aeroplanes can bring in missionaries and Bible translators as well as provide resources such as medicine, doctors, food and building materials, to aid the missionaries and the people staying in the villages

Did you know? In some of these villages it could take up to a 6-day walk to get to the nearest medical clinic, but with an aeroplane, it will take less than an hour, which could be the difference between life and death.

Next Steps: Moody Aviation

We feel specifically called to serve with a mission organisation called Ethnos360 Aviation - formerly known as New Tribes Mission. What makes Ethnos360 Aviation such a wonderful organisation to serve with is that they focus on planting churches amongst the unreached and then supporting that church until it is self-sustainable.

Here is a video from Ethnos360 which shows how important it is to take the gospel to all people.

However, in order to serve with Ethnos360 Aviation, John not only needs his Commercial Pilot's Licence, but also his A&P certificate (Air Maintenance). Unfortunately, South Africa (where John is from) does not offer the A&P certificate. The best institution in the world to get this qualification is at Moody Aviation, a ministry of the Moody Bible Institute.

John has been accepted into Moody Aviation in Spokane, Washington State, US. Here he will qualify with a Bachelor of Science in Mission Aviation Technology, giving John every tool and skill needed to be the most effective and competent missionary pilot which will include the most intense pilot training, theological training and Air Maintenance qualification.

Lord willing, John will start his training January 2020

Would you partner with us financially?

The first step for us would be to move to the United States. We would need to go on student visas which will prohibit us from working, therefore, we need support for both our monthly living expenses and the tuition fees. We need to raise a years worth of tuition and living expenses upfront in order to be allowed to go to the United States as per the the student visa requirements.

This means that in order to get our Visas we need to have about $40 000 available(update: we now only need $30000 in order to apply for our Visas). This will include 1 year's worth of tuition and living expenses.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? Romans 10:13-15.

What hope do these people have who have never heard the gospel? If they never hear the Good News, they will continue to practice their false worship which will lead to eternal death. If they have no access to the outside world what happens when there is a medical emergency? There is so much work to be done and mission aviation does amazing things to get this work done, but there are not enough pilots, therefore, your financial gift to us will make a difference in so many people's lives both eternally and here on this earth.
