Help Joe get a workshop

My son Joe has been trained in furniture restoration and is an absolute artist in this field….mothers point of view, of course..

As big and sturdy as he is, you would never think that he suffers from debilitating anxiety disorder!

For the past 16 years he has been totally dependent on me, excluding the restoration projects that he has managed to bring in.

Over this time his equipment, meagre as it is, have worn out and he is left with the very basics…an orbital sander, a few clamps and a jigsaw.

As a mother I feel guilty that I cannot assist him in purchasing new equipment, but most of my money has to go into my daughters’ medical expenses – she suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. Her medical aid payment alone is almost equivalent to a clerk’s salary.. rip off but crucial.

I would dearly love to help Joe set up a proper workshop where he can also repair furniture, not just restore them. He has so many plans that are totally within his skill set, but is limited by the lack of equipment.

We have looked into the costs involved to get this started with 2^nd hand equipment and the total will come to approximately R 50 000 – something I will never be able to achieve!

This will get him the following;

Table saw

Thickness Planer

Bench Drill

Router

Lathe

Circular and Mitre saw

Belt Sander
