Our beloved yorkie, Jewel, hurt her left leg last week during an accident when she was jumping around playing with her toys. We bought her to a vet and the vet initally said that she will recover in next few days. However, she continued to be in pain (leg shivering and shouted when we attempted to touch the leg) for next few days so we brought her to another vet and did an X-ray. The vet gave us the news that she was diagnosed with Cruciate Disease and her ligaments of her joints are ruptured (ACL tear). The vet stated that tibial plateau levelling osteotomy (TPLO) surgery is the best chance for her to have a normal life. If her leg is left untreated, she will be limping in pain for the rest of her life. Consequently, the other legs may be affected as well. Unfortunately the whole procedure will cost around $4000 Singapore dollars. It is honestly a difficult amount for us to afford. However, Jewel is in pain every day now and we feel horrible that we are not able to afford the best for her. Any contribution to Jewel's wellbeing will be greatly appreciated. All monies will go to her medical fees and we will donate any extras to less fortunate pups.
