Help Jessica Travel to Cambodia!

Hi everyone,

My name is Jessica Segura-Hernandez. I am a sophmore at San Jose State University and this summer I will be volunteering with a program called EDventure. I will be traveling to Cambodia on June 12th and will be spending three weeks engaging in leadership development workshops with other volunteers from around the world. My goal is to help educate the children of Cambodia since they do not have the same learning opportunities as we do. As a mother, it is easier to understand how important education is, especially for children. I will help them improve their reading and writing skills as well as their verbal skills. Not only will I be educating them, but I will be building close relationships with both the children and their families as well. I know this will be a life changing experience for me because traveling to Cambodia for three weeks is definitely out of my comfort zone. However, knowing that I will be making a positive impact across the world motivates me even more to help educate these children.

Since I will be spending three weeks away from home, I am going to make the best out of this experience. I want to learn more about a different culture and physically experience life in a third world country. I never thought that I would have an opportunity to travel across the world to make a positive change, but the day that I learned about the EDventure program I knew that it was something I wanted to do. I don't know how I am going to do it, but I will do everything I can to help educate the children in Cambodia :)

The cost of my program is 3,300 (excluding flights). This includes my accomodation, meals, project resources, transportation within cambodia and financial support for the community. With your support I can make this dream possible.
