Help Jessica Militar Raise Medical Cost

UPDATES: Jess biopsy result is back. She is diagnosed with Lymphoma and Pneumonia. The doctors are still running test to determine the type of Lymphoma and treatment plan. For now, the priority is to treat her pneumonia so that she can undergo cancer treatment.

Jessica is 24 years old and is the sole breadwinner of her family. Jessica finished her university degree in 2018 and has been working for the past three years in Barhead Philippines. Jessica is one of the youngest women to be recognised as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for all her community efforts in building the Power Platform community in Philippines.

Everything was going normal in Jessica’s life until last year (2020), when she started experiencing health issues. Over the last year, Jessica has been in and out of hospital due to chronic cough and difficulty in breathing. Her condition worsened last Saturday (June 5, 2021). She was rushed to the hospital ER and the doctors have said that she requires respiratory support, until they can come up with a surgical option to improve her condition.

During the medical checkup, the doctors found mass in her lungs, and complications with her heart functions. The medical team are still in the amidst of performing biopsy, lab tests, blood tests, CT scan, x-ray, and 2D ECHO to understand the issue. They have also said that she would also need a lung operation soon.

Jessica is currently in Marikina Valley Medical Center and is treated by the following doctors: Dr. Mary Jane Reyes, Dr. Manlutac and Dr. Garcia.

In order to continue treatment, the hospital needs a deposit of deposit of 4,194 USD (200K peso) is paid to the hospital ASAP. The hospital also gave an estimate of 30K USD for initial treatment which also includes CT scan, X-ray and daily blood tests etc. Jessica and her family already used up all their resources for her medical bills and hospitalization.

Since she has been in the hospital for the past weeks, Jessica has also not been able to work, and so Jessica has exhausted all her work leaves and her health insurance has also maxed out, so she is not able to utilise it for the treatment.
