Ms. Catherine Quiambao, an Online Freelancer and one of the respected Freelancer in the community. Despite of what she has been undergoing, she has not stop nor rested in supporting, coaching and helping fellow freelancers get a chance to succeed in the the industry. This is the story of her Husband Jay as told by his Cousin Sarah,

Ravi, Rishi (my brothers) and I grew up with our 3 cousins living with us - Katherine, Jay, and Jamie. We are really siblings with different parents. We lived in Virginia. It was beautiful and simple then. We learned how to ride bikes together, went trick or treating together, had snowball fights, caught fireflies, and walked to school together. For different reasons, our families moved back to the Philippines and we continued to grow together in another country. We experienced our culture together, went to high school, went to college, had our first loves and started jobs. My brothers and I had moved to Nevada for school / work and life started happening. But that didn't stop us from staying connected. I witnessed Jay's wedding proposal on a beach in the Philippines one New Year's Day. We travel back and forth to visit each other whenever we could. Last year in February, our families were reunited again. It's was a happy occasion. My wedding on the same beach where Jay proposed.

Eight month later, in October of 2016, I found out that Jay was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It has effected all areas in his life. He was diagnosed at a very late stage of his cancer journey and we are all extremely worried about him. He and his wife decided to give the chemo route a try as he trusts his doctors and that is what they advised. He is in his 30's and his body did not respond at all well to the chemo and radiation. There were many nights that he cried out of pain (8/9 out of 10) and had no rest. He is still mostly bedridden and can barely walk even with assistance due to MULTIPLE tumors on his spine and the rest of his body. He had lost so much weight, had painful sores in his mouth that wouldn't heal (lack of immune system) and could only take in nutrients via a tube.

The doctors are at a loss. They have told him that he has months to live at best. At the same time, they are advising him that the only nutrition he should have is not even actual medical grade nutrition. They were feeding him ENSURE. He got so skinny that you could see his bones. His legs and feet are so severely swollen due to water retention from poor kidney function.

I got to speak to a very close friend of mine who is a naturopath doctor that works at one of the best cancer treatment hospitals. Despite what others think, we still have hope and we are going to give him a chance at alternative medical care. We have seen this work for a number of stage 4 patients. My brother Rishi has taken time away from work indefinitely to attend to Jay personally. We have sent back a little less than a month's worth of medicine with Rishi and Jay is receiving personalized care with remote supervision from naturopath doctors that we know and trust. In a way this is our last hope. We are so severely saddened by this and we just want him to feel less pain and live to see his two young sons grow up.

I am very hopeful because I personally have seen tumors shrink before my eyes, people gaining their eye sight, and having a normal quality of life in a few short weeks. This has been seen at Chipsa Hospital and also with living proof from my other cousin, Ashish.

Truly ANYTHING HELPS of course, but I am asking you, begging you, lets make this happen today. It all just became so real and clear to me that this moment - RIGHT HERE AND RIGHT NOW - is the reason for my all education, all my training, and all my opportunities. I CAN make a difference. I MUST make a difference. For HIS life. For his wife's life. His babies' lives. And for my family.

The goal is to hit $10k in 1 week. For those of you that know what it's like to pay for cancer, this is just barely the start. But it is what we need immediately. His medication is running out and the medical bills are piling up. I can't do this alone and I'm asking, please help me. If you can't donate yourself, please consider helping in some way if you can. Maybe you know someone else that can help or donate money or other in-kind items that we can auction. Even just a share. Truly. Every. Dollar. Helps.
