Help JAX!

JAX Bar and Grill in Isla Mujeres needs your help, and if you're reading this then JAX has played an important part in your life.  Whether you've been there once or returned time and time again over the years, you know that JAX is literally a cornerstone of the Isla Mujeres experience.  Situated on the corner of Rueda Medina and Lopez Mateos overlooking Playa Norte, JAX has incredible food, cold beer, great live music, and absolutely the best staff on the island.  In my mind it's a required stop on any visit to the island, and I know that many of you feel the same.  About a month ago, JAX was shut down by the Mexican government as a result of local politics.  Jackie and Michael, the couple that owns and have dedicated their lives to JAX, had to pay steep fines to be "allowed" to repoen and the many weeks of downtime in peak season has created a serious revenue shortfall for them.  In addition, the many dedicated workers and their familes have suffered from loss of wages and we're at risk of losing them as well as the restaurant itself.  Let's not forget that the island needs JAX.  Jackie and Michael are incredibly active in the local community, and support the island we love in many ways.  From the annual fishing tournament to the local school system, Jackie and Michael are important to the island.  Folks, JAX needs your help.  Please make a contribution today to help Jackie and Michael regain some of their losses and get JAX back on its financial feet.  Any amount is welcome, and every single dollar goes to Jackie and Michael and to their establishment that we love so much.  I'm starting this fundraiser off with $500 of my own money, and hope all of you will contribute as well.  To Jackie and Michael: Thank you for bringing all of us into your family, we love you, and this is our gift to you for all the years of great food, service, and friendship.  -Norm
