Help support Jacky’s family on Gili Trawangan through Covid-19

In 2019 My girlfriend Jess and I went for a trip in Idonesia, we met Jacky when we went to Gili Trawangan. We were booked into a local hotel and when we arrived - Jacky greeted us as the host. He was slick, cool, super chill - massive badass. He helped us out when we needed advice or hookups on the island.

He told us that the home he had been building with his family had been almost completely destroyed by the earthquake in 2018 - completely devastated the entire region.

We have stayed in touch and now Jacky has been telling me how his village has been affected by the global Covid-19 pandemic. Tourism (The main industry and source of income for him) has completely vanished, and he is COMPLETELY unable to pay rent for his family home. He has a wife and a 4-year-old daughter named Novi and they are struggling to FEED themselves and are currently unable to keep a roof over their heads.

A few words from Jacky - "Since the Corona virus has hit me, my economic life and my family in particular and the community in general are very concerned, especially me and my family, who are sad everyday from work, do not yet exist for now, their income has decreased even for daily meals because it is difficult to leave the house. Honestly I am sad with the situation as it is now. There has been no help from the government for us."

Jacky needs to pay the bank 3 months rent which totals 2,220,000 IDR (Equivalent to roughly $250 AUD).

However I predict that in 3 months time, Gili's tourism industry will still be hugely affected (Honestly probably non-existent). I'm aiming to raise $1000AUD to try and keep Jacky and his family afloat for the next 12 months.

All money raised will be withdrawn by me (Unfortunately most funding sites do not support Indonesian Rupiah or Indonesian Bank accounts) and then sent to Jacky via the most competitively-priced International Transfer Service available at the time (WorldRemit, Transferwise etc.).

Any and all donations will go an extremely long-way considering the currency conversion.
