I met Jane (names anonymized) recently in a dire situation. She and her fiance were about to become homeless. Not because of financial problems, but because it was simply time for them to leave the nest. With no training at all, and suffering from an ankle injury, she was not able to hold on to her job.
During the next few weeks, after taking residence in a spare bedroom, she and her fiance had quickly found new jobs in the North Atlanta Area, and started walking 3 miles to work and 3 miles back every day. Now, with a re-written resume, and more recent experience behind their belts, both have aspiring dreams to take it to the next level.
Jack has all the commendations and prerequesites for becoming an EMT. All he lacks is a driver's license and the money to take the test.
Jane has been working with me to form a crafts startup, making rave dreads and other cross-stitching projects both by request as well as by design, giving fashion advice on how to make them work with popular attire for clubbing and raves, and working part time as a personal assistant.
Both have shown that they have what it takes to move to the next level, but we need your help.
With the $10,000 that we are asking for, Jane will be able to create a web-domain for her projects and better seek clients. She will also be able to purchase the necessary materials in order to help decrease the time needed to craft each of her products.
Jack will be able to get his driver's license in the next few weeks, and eventually get a used car. With that he hopes to ace the EMT training certifications and become an EMT.
Both of these two individuals currently make minimum wage $7.25/hour, and both are struggling and fighting every chance they have to get more hours. Help them prove to the world that people can change, and everyone should have hope in life, no matter how low life puts them.
