Help is needed for medical care of stray dogs

Hello i am a volunteer in an animal welfare group in athens and we try to help as many animals as we can. We often find new born puppies thrown in plastic bags inside garbage cans, stray dogs hit by cars and left to die, poisoned, sick and even attacked by people with knives sticks etc. There is a great need for help for the medical treatement ( medicine, surgeries, sterilizations) as the goverment does not always offer help and when it does the procedures take too long and we are in a fight with time most of the times and sometimes we lose lives because of the lack of resources.

Now people begin to abandon their dogs on a mountain close to athens, there are about about 40 dogs there. We managed to gather enough food for the dogs and calm things down because they were attacking other animals on the mountain and put the wild life in danger and also people as there were also attacks on hikers.( there is also an article on the news http://www.cnn.gr/focus/story/88871/parnitha-ta-ad... ) However there is not enough help from government projects and something has to be done to at least stop their numbers from increasing by mating.Some dogs have been sterilized but we are at our limits.
