MESSAGE FROM ISABELLA;My dear family and friends:As most of you know, I have loved to perform ever since I was a young child. All the years of dedication, classes, theatre troupes and singing have finally paid off... in an amazing opportunity to attend AMDA. The training will be intensive and extensive. All the instructors and professors are working professionals and I will be immersed in the arts! However, the tuition is high, and although I've been awarded a scholarship of $4,000 per year, there are many more dollars I must raise. We have some wonderful incentives for your donations, and remember, any amount helps. Thank you so much, in advance. : )Here's a bit about me... I did not choose the path of an artist, the path chose me. It was something I was born with, something that defined me at a young age. My mom (Gypsy) discovered this about me when I was only nineteen months old. At the time, my absolute favorite movie was Bambi and my mom had a VHS that she had running, practically continuously, in my bedroom. As the story goes... when I was in my parent's room playing with my toys, Bambi could be heard on the baby monitor in their room. Bambi happens to have almost no dialogue, but instead the story is told through its images and a musical score to communicate what is happening in the scenes throughout the movie. I was told that while sitting there, I began to recite the actions of the scene by just hearing the soundtrack through the baby monitor. Both my parents couldn't believe their eyes as they rushed into my bedroom, ecstatic to find that my explanations were spot on. They were amazed that I could identify the corresponding actions happening in the movie by hearing the soundtrack. Mom told me that at that moment, she knew I had the gene - the calling for art. It started with my love for music at such a young age and blossomed through the years to come with my discovery of the theatre. When I was five years old, my love of acting and the theatre began. I got the opportunity to perform in my first musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat," at Crossroads summer camp. We worked six hours a day for six weeks to prepare for the production. Every summer thereafter for the next five years, there was a new play, new auditions and a new character through which I had the opportunity to express myself. I also participated in musical productions with Miss Amanda's Stage Kids theatre troupe throughout the school years after that first experience at summer camp prompting my love of performing in the theatre. One of my most cherished moments was being honored with the role of Elphaba in "Wicked." I cannot truly express the way it feels to perform. Putting it into words just doesn’t quite capture the extent to which I feel connected to life and joy when I am performing. Art is everything to me: it is the way I cope, the way I learn, the way I express my feelings and myself. Without art, the world wouldn't be the same place and I wouldn't be the same person. Your contributions will go directly to tuition and housing. The schedule is rigorous and requires that I be in classes from 8:00am until 5:00pm, with rehearsals in the evenings so living on campus is necessary. Contributors will receive my immense gratitude and promise of dedication and hard work. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, and a dream come true! Also, I will always strive to use my success for positive changes and contributions in the world. I give you my word.Love,IsabellaYour kindness and genorisity is appreciated to help isabella persue her dreams. thank you!
