Help in Mama Joy’s Fight Against CA

Hello family and friends,

We, as a family, understand that each of us are in the process of coping in this time of pandemic, but we are hopeful that every good person whom we will be able to reach through this message could take the time to extend their help to our Mama Joy, who is currently battling breast cancer.

Last August 7, 2020, Mama Joy felt a hard, round mass on her breast area. She did not think anything of it as she thought it was only caused by her undergarment.

By September, she noticed another mass by her armpit. The family encouraged Mama Joy to undergo mammogram, but because of COVID-19, she had a difficult time getting a schedule.

It took six months for her to undergo a sonomammogram. By January 2021, we discovered that her breast mass is suspicious for malignancy. After the biopsy, the doctor informed us that it is invasive breast carcinoma, or breast cancer Stage IIB.

Mama Joy had already undergone mastectomy in our attempt to slow down the CA cells, but this is not enough. She will go through chemotherapy every three weeks for 18 cycles. Her first cycle was done on April 7.

6 months after the chemo sessions, she would then have to undergo sessions of radiotherapy to ensure that the CA is gone.

At the moment, Mama Joy continues to fight and is unfaltering in her faith that she will be fully healed. We are channeling all our energy in providing for the expenses of the sessions, hospitalization, and medications Mama Joy needs. But, we are humbly asking for your support so that we may continue to push forward with the sessions she will need in the coming months, until her full recovery.
