Help horses affected by the central Croatia earthquake

People are getting help from all over the country. Animals need help too.

Besides houses, many stables and hay storage building collapsed. This leaves horses and other farm animals hungry and out in the cold. Any money that you donate will be used to buy electric fencing, haynets, waterproof rugs, hay and grain for horses and other farm animals.

Electric fence machines, rope (or tape) and posts are needed so that horses and cows can be in a field instead of tied up to a tree. There is a lot of unused land in this area. With electric fencing, horses will always be able to munch on something and get through the winter with minimal amounts of hay.

Rugs are needed as this is a wet and rainy area. Most of these are small coldblooded horses and ponies, stabled in the winter and not clipped. All they need are simple waterproof rugs with no filling.

Haynets are needed as they are the cheapest form of feeders. This is a very muddy area, feeding off the ground wastes a lot of hay. Many hay storage buildings collapsed so there is not much hay to begin with.

For those unable to store hay, we will buy grain (oats, wheat, barley, corn).

Also, we are asking for donations of electric fencing, haynets and waterproof rugs. We accept used and/or damaged goods. Any old rug or haynet that is still usable will do.
